South Korea arrested Samsung leader for bribery case
Finally there comes a time for Samsung Leader to face jail.
A South Korean court confirmed on Friday the approved that it took into custody the acting head of Samsung Group Jay Y. Lee, as per the reports from Dow Jones and the Associated Press; he was arrested in connection with a massive corruption scandal in the country. Lee has been accused of bribing the poised South Korean president, Park Geun-hye.
But the decision was dissimilar from the last month where the Seoul Central District Court in South Korea discarded the request of the warrant for Lee, Samsung’s 48 year old vice chairman. Other than bribery Lee has been accused of misappropriation and false swearing as well.
One of the publications said that Lee has been waiting for the verdict at a Seoul detention center, and he will stay there because of the arrest warrant. It will take almost 18 months for the trial or decision, that said.
Samsung said in a statement: “We will do our best to ensure that the truth is revealed in future court proceedings.”
