To access a computer over the Internet, we will use the Windows Remote Desktop. The principle is: a PC server receives a request from a client computer that tries to take control. The PC server in question must be running Windows 7.

Step 1: Allow access to the computer

1.In Window 7 open System Properties and go to the Remote tab.

2.Click “Allow users to connect remotely to this computer “Window 7.

3.Click “Select users” if you want to give access to remote desktop to other users the system administrator, who has a default access.

Step 2: The “client”

Now that the server is properly configured, now let’s get to the “client” part, that is to say the computer that will allow you to access your remote machine.

1.Open the Start menu, go to the Accessories and choose sub menu “remote Desktop Connection”.

2.In the new window, enter the IP address of the server computer. You’ll find it by visiting the following page from the server PC. You can also enter in this box the name of a computer on your local network.

3. The authentication request appears with the name of the authorized account to access the PC. It remains to enter your password. The connection is established with OK.

Step 3: Connection option

Before you click OK to establish the connection, you can make some adjustments that will affect your remote desktop user comfort. Just click on the options button when entering the IP address of the remote machine.
